The study was carried out in areas without known Aedes-borne disease cases during the study period, and a follow-up was made at 3 months following the end of the study to ensure that none of the participants were positive for Aedes-borne pathogens. The Shanghai Huangpu Center for Disease Control and Prevention (HPCDC) through the HPCDC Ethical Review Committee granted ethical approval (HPCDC-LL20170608) for this study.
