Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethics approval was not required for this study since the data is secondary and is available in the public domain. However, the MICS reports that verbal consent was gained for each respondent participating. Adult consent in advance of the child’s assent was obtained for children aged 15–17 who were individually interviewed. All respondents were assured of voluntary participation and the confidentiality and anonymity of information. Additionally, respondents were informed of their right to refuse answering all or particular questions, as well as to stop the interview at any time.
