: The study was conducted in accordance with the protocol approved by the QIMR Berghofer Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and the RBWH HREC, the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki (recommendations guiding medical doctors in biomedical research involving human subjects, Fortaleza, Brazil 2013), the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2007), and the Notes for Guidance on Good Clinical Practice (GCP) (CPMP/ICH/135/95) as adopted by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (2000). All amendments and addenda to the protocol were similarly submitted to the QIMR Berghofer HREC and the RBWH HREC for approval prior to their implementation.
