: This study was approved by the Animal Ethical Committee of the School of Veterinary Medicine, Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran (No: 4687/63). Written informed consent for the euthanasia of the studied dogs was obtained from the owners and the attending veterinarian. All procedures in this study were in accordance with the ethical guidelines outlined in the Basel Declaration.
