: All the experimental procedures were approved and carried out following the guidelines and of the International Animal Ethics Committee and the National Research Centre (NRC) guidelines of the Animal Research Committee under protocol number: 19–152.The Mice used in the study were euthanized post-infection, while the rabbits not euthanized or anesthetized and released after blood samples collection according the previous ethical approval. Also, the authors confirm that permission from the farmer was obtained for collecting fecal samples from newborn buffalo calves. All methods were carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations for the use of animal subjects. The study was carried out in compliance with the ARRIVE guidelines.
