Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Informed consent from participants who participated in the evaluation of the mentorship program was obtained from all participants in written form prior to the commencement of the evaluation and again in written form prior to each interview. CDC, APHL, and WHO classified this case study as extramural, “non-research,” as approved by Cooperative Agreement # U60HM000803 and NU60OE000103. The evaluation case study fulfills a performance evaluation requirement of the non-research cooperative agreement, which deems the need for IRB ethics approval in this evaluation unnecessary through its designation as program evaluation for “non-research.” As such, the qualitative transcripts and themes that comprise this evaluation case study are a part of routine internal performance monitoring and evaluation and therefore are not publicly available.
: All participants voluntarily gave their informed consent for publication in written form.
