: The process of obtaining informed consent verbally was approved by the National Health Research Ethics Committee of the Federal Ministry of Health. Ethics approval was obtained from the National Health Research Ethics Committee, Federal Ministry of Health (NHREC/01/01/2007). The data collection and other research activities were performed strictly following the relevant guidelines and regulations. Among others, the study was fully explained to each participant and informed consent was freely and voluntarily obtained from them verbally and audio-recorded. We obtained the informed consent of parents or legal guardians as well as the assent of the participants for unmarried adolescents aged less than 18 years. Consent to audio-record the focus group discussion sessions was also obtained from the participants. Participants were assured of confidentiality and that the information provided by them would only be used for the study purpose. Furthermore, the data analysis and reporting would not refer to them by name.
