: The <i>Oslo Ischemia Study</i> was performed in line with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. At inclusion in the 1970s, all participants provided verbal informed consent according to the Declaration of Helsinki. In the 1990s, after increased awareness of privacy, the Data Protection Authority retrospectively reviewed the inclusion process for the Oslo Ischemia Study and judged participation to be in accordance with provisions on written informed consent. This study was approved by the Regional Committees for Medical and Health Research Ethics, Norway.
