: All procedures performed in this study involving human participants complied with the ethical standards of the institutional research committee and the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki declaration and its later amendments or comparable ethical standards. The “Benchmarking ERCP” project of the Austrian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (ÖGGH) was initiated in 2006 and approved by its institutional review board. It offers the participating centers the opportunity to ascertain their individual performance on the basis of pooled “benchmark” data. All data are part of the national survey for quality assessment of ERCP, a quality improvement project of the ÖGGH. Due to the observational evaluation of the data no informed consent was obtained as determined by the institutional review board of the Austrian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. This study was approved by the Review Board of the Austrian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
